Summary Draft 1
In the article, "Singapore Water Story" from The Public Utilities Board's (PUB) website (2020), PUB explains how Singapore's demand for water continues to rise. Water management plans are implemented to ensure that water is sufficient. With efforts to collect every drop of water, reuse water constantly and desalinate seawater. The size of the water catchment area has increased since 2011, in order to collect more water. The NEWater plant will work towards the goal of supplying 55% of Singapore’s water demand. 30% of Singapore’s future water needs will be coming from desalination plants, with the addition of 2 more plants by 2020. It took lots of investment and resources to come up with the current solution for water. Water is precious, we believe that everyone has a part to play so that there will be sufficient and sustainable water supply for the coming generations.
